Okay, so I haven't written a rant in a while and thought you guys would like to know what has been going on. For one, I had some family stuff go down which kept me from updating the last few strips. For that, I apologize. Then, I had my first anime convention ever... and by having it be possibly the biggest in the U.S. I keep getting told by my friends that I was spoiled.

Okay, ya se que no he escrito un rant en bastante tiempo y pense que quisieran saber lo que estaba sucediendo. Primero, ocurrio algo en la familia que me distrajo un poco de mis deberes y no pude actualizar las ultimas tiras. Por eso, me disculpo. Luego, atendi a mi primer convencion de anime jamas... y el que fuera posiblemente la mas grande en los Estados Unidos, me decian mis amigos que me di un gran lujo.

Yes, I am speaking of Anime Expo here in Los Angeles. A few months ago I was in the FredArting channel in Justin.tv when Fred announced he would be attending as a Guest of Honor. When more of the people I know online said they would be going too, I was asked if I was going to be there. Considering that I'd never been to a con mostly because of work scheduling, and I was currently in a flexible schedule, I decided "okay, I'll go."

Si, estoy hablando de Anime Expo aqui en Los Angeles. Hace un par de meses estaba en en canal de FredArting en Justin.tv cuando Fred anuncio que el estaria atendiendo como un Invitado de Honor. Cuando mas de los participantes del chat anunciaron que tambien iban a atender, me preguntaron si yo iria. Considerando el que nunca habia ido a una convencion mayormente por mi horario de trabajo, y estaba actualmente en un horario muy flexible, decidi "Okay, voy a ir."

So we made arrangements. Unfortunately, the Hatsune Miku concert that had been announced, Mikunopolis, was sold out by the time I got my online registration. That really got my spirits down, but finally meeting a few of the guys I hang out online was definitely going to make this a weekend (I thought) to remember. I wasn't prepared for the hectic schedule that truly is Anime Expo. Instead of the weekend that I thought I was going to be participating, it was more like a week.

Asi que hicimos planes. Inafortunadamente, el concierto anunciado de Hatsune Miku, Mikunopolis, habia agotado taquilla para cuando me habia registrado en internet. Eso realmente me dio una depre, pero al fin conocer algunos de los chavos con los que hablo diariamente en chat haria este fin de semana (eso pense) uno para recordar. No estaba preparado para el loco horario que realmente es Anime Expo. En vez del fin de semana que pense, fue mas como una semana.
 
Day 0, Thursday: Pre-registrations were on this day. Ralianxinde, one of the guys that was to come with me arrived that morning. Since I had my niece and nephew with me, he got to meet them and hang out with them in Hollywood before we had to register.

Dia 0, Jueves: Pre-registracion es hoy. Ralianxinde, uno de los muchachos que iba a ir con nosotros llego esa mañana. Como tenia a mis sobrinos conmigo, el pudo conocerlos y pasar un rato en Hollywood antes de la hora de registrarnos.

We went to the Convention Center not really knowing what to expect. Ral had been to Acen in Chicago before, but AX was a whole different monster. It turns out people had been waiting in line to get pre-registered since 6:00 a.m. Don't ask how, but Ral and I got to the Convention Center at about 2:50 and were registered by 3:15.

Fuimos al Convention Center sin saber exactamente que esperar. Ral habia atendido Acen en Chicago, pero AX era un monstruo completamente diferente. Resulta que habia gente que estaba esperando en linea para pre-registracion desde las 6:00 a.m. No pregunten como, pero Ral y yo llegamos al Convention Center como a las 2:50 y estabamos registrados a las 3:15.

Now, Ral was registered for a ticket to Kalafina, so we had to go pick up his ticket. As we were waiting in line, we heard from one of the staff members that it was rumored that 200 extra tickets to Mikunopolis had been released at the last second. We decided to ask the person doing the ticket registration and they confirmed it. We both pulled out our wallets and said "Take our money."

Pues, Ral se habia registrado para la taquilla de Kalafina, asi que fuimos a recoger su boleto. Mientras esperabamos en cola, escuchamos de uno de los miembros del staff que habian salido 200 boletos extra para Mikunopolis a ultima hora. Decidimos preguntarle a la persona en la registracion de taquilla y lo confirmaron. Ambos sacamos nuestras billeteras y dijimos "Tome nuestro dinero."

So tickets in hand, Ral and I went around just taking in the atmosphere, the scenery, the sense of accomplishment that we'd made our way into Mikunopolis and gotten awesome seats. Now, we were expecting other people to show up, so I was in constant Twitter check. When I found out H3D had made it into the Convention Center, I gave him (and anyone reading my Twitter feed at the time) my phone number. We got in touch with him and hung out for a while before he had to go pick up the next member in our party... Kalium.

Y con boletos en la mano, Ral y yo pasamos el resto de la tarde absorbiendo el ambiente, el escenario y ese sentido de orgullo por haber conseguido boletos a Mikunopolis y con buenisimos asientos. Estabamos esperando al resto de los que iban a llegar asi que estaba contantemente chequeando mi Twitter. En cuanto vi que H3D habia llegado al Convention Center, le di (a el y a todo mundo siguiendo mi Twitter al momento) mi numero de telefono. Nos juntamos y pasamos un rato juntos antes que tuviera que salir el a recojer al siguiente miembro de nuestro grupo... Kalium.

Hola a todos!!!

Una vez más estoy aqui con una de mis notas , esta vez sobre la 1254.

En el ultimo cuadro, Komugiko (la chica con las orejas de gato) le pregunta a Kimiko "you're not... playing her anymore?".

Ahora, esto puede ser interpretado de varias maneras. Una, es tomar el verbo "playing" en el sentido más literal, que es el de jugar. Ya que el papá de Junko ha estado unas tiras atras hablando de Tohya y de arquetipos de juegos y cosas por el estilo, esa fue la traducción que tome; "jugandola".

Pero tambien podemos ver el verbo en el sentido de "actuar", en cuyo caso puede estar diciendole que si no la esta "actuando" más. Pienso que es una interpretación que tambien podria ser valida, pero tendremos que esperar a que el comic avance y entender que es lo que queria decir Fred con eso.

Ah, y finalmente, tambien lo podemos ver como "tocandola [en el sentido de un instrumento musical]", pero creo que podemos descartar esa.
